Responsibilities
Act as a safety role model, encourage and recognize others completing safe acts, and intervene when unsafe acts are being practiced.
• Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job relevant processes and procedures. Communicate through appropriate channels or implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol.
• Complete all safety training assigned
• Utilize all PPE as required by work instructions and QSE manual
• Understand and support the site continuous improvement plan
• Interface with customer and respond to customer inquiries. Refer complex customer inquiries to higher level technical staff or manager (always demonstrate strong customer focus)
• Fully navigate and input the required data into MyTime and MyTask and the different cost allocations (i.e. SO's)
• Ability to support T&M projects that may or may not be at home site
• Accountable to follow proper verification and consumption of inventory
• Ability to access & use online tools (i.e. Toolkit, SAP, VOB, VGA, VIS, VTM, etc..)
• Awareness of how dashboard impacts the site (i.e. alarms, warnings, fleet, service orders, labor efficiency, new site start up, TNT, FIT, other insight dashboard metrics)
• Ability to navigate and use the Insight Toolbox
• Required to be at TBC level 200
• TSL & CIR entry and follow up
• Assume responsibility to take advantage of the tools available to continue to grow and learn as an employee with team support
• Effectively promote strong team environment by assisting teammates in accomplishing goals and mentoring lower-level technical staff. Visibly support and promote change initiatives and team spirit and cooperation.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) years technical wind industry experience OR in the absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and/or composite skills OR six (6) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program.
• Ability to effectively mentor, lead others, run crews and specialty projects
• Internal candidate training/certificate requirements: LOTO III, D-Service, C Service, B Service, TBC Core 100, 200 & 300, and Turbine specific 100, 200 & 300
• External candidates must complete required training within 6 months.
• Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols (i.e. Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out)
• Demonstrated use and understanding of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems as well as tooling associated with the job scope as well as the ability to train others to those specific tasks (i.e. fluke meter functions, hydraulic pressure gauge, etc.)
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to obtain a passport preferred
Competencies
• Ability to constantly climb stairs and ladders 60-125 meters {200-400 feet} in height, to access work area
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight
• Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend
• Ability to constantly grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools and turbine parts
• Comfort constantly working in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters
• Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled descent.
• Ability to hear and see, including the ability to perceive depth and distinguish colors, sufficient to perform job functions and use close range radios
• Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
• Comfort working remotely in a Turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction
• Your total weight, while wearing all required PPE and gear, must be at or less than the 300.0 lbs. weight limit
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and other software programs
• Regular & reliable attendance
