Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant will file federal and state tax returns and work with financial and income tax statements, ensuring they comply with tax laws. Your responsibilities in this role
Maintain good industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, participating in detail oriented organizations, keeping up with detail oriented networks and reading detail oriented publications
Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
Organize any outsourced tax preparation work
Monitor client compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations
Develop solutions for complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Recommend ways to improve profits and identify legal tax savings
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database Requirements Additional Responsibilities: - Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts - Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations - Assist clients with tax planning strategies and provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions - Prepare financial statements and reports for clients - Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary financial information - Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations
Qualifications: - Minimum 5 - 10yrs Tax & Accounting Experience - Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices - Experience with technical accounting and regulatory reporting - Familiarity with asset management and financial report writing - Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) - Ability to interpret financial reports and provide insights to clients - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the company.
