About the team:
The group is doing end-to-end functional testing.
Development, production, or maintenance testing
Testing on a simulated hardware environment (simulator)
Global meeting in the morning (candidate should have experience working in a cross-functional team)
Working in a simulated environment (heavy vehicles and trucks), they also do real-time vehicle testing and work on the physical product.
Responsible for developing the development plan and test scripts, writing down any defects or bugs, and writing the documentation (what happened? How was the problem fixed?)
Technical Requirements:
Simulation experience (hardware and software design)
Knowledge of software (communication between different components- how does the hardware work with the software?)
Troubleshooting experience
Electrical circuitry (how to troubleshoot the problem? Figure it out before reporting it to other teams?)
Preference is an electrical background ; not looking for a candidate with a mechanical background .
Heavy vehicle and truck automotive, or avionics or similar industry background experience-need to be able to read the design and schematics, work directly on the electrical components of an aircraft for them to be considered for this role.
Automotive industry experience would be nice
2+ years of experience (professional experience is a must; they're working on complex architecture and infrastructure); not open to someone with a master’s degree w/internship exp.
No ramp-up time; they need someone who can hit the ground running.
The candidate should be able to come in and hit the ground running with very little handholding.
No automation work (writing scripts is not needed)
What's exciting about working at Volvo/team:
Systems Testing- you are so close to the product and how it's affecting the end line, end-to-end activities, and the impact on the consumer.
Work matters!
The work is challenging.
We are not always doing the same work, so there is an opportunity to continue to learn and grow in the role.
