Have the ability to learn and use our surgery scheduling system (OpTime) and our hospital charting system (EPIC). Is required to attend clinic two to four times per week, coordinate and schedule surgeries as needed from our off-site and main campus locations. Schedulers are required to return emails, voicemails and EPIC messages in a timely manner. A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesAttend ENT/Specialty clinics with assigned physician(s)Schedule surgery as ordered during off-site and main campus locationsObtain prior authorizations and document the authorizationsSchedule postoperative and follow-up appointments as requested by physician/NPKeep accurate record of surgeries scheduled in OR manager and with the Surgery CentersReview, print and provide surgery packets prior to surgeryProvide Administrative support to assigned physicians. Duties include making travel arrangements, preparing employee reimbursements, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars.Answers incoming calls according to phone coverage scheduleWill be cross-trained as a patient service coordinatorRequired to pre-certify surgeries if neededQualificationsKNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1. High school graduate or equivalent.2. Knowledge of filing, word processing, spreadsheet, medical terminology, coding, and office skills.3. Two years previous secretarial experience in the medical office setting; surgical scheduling experience preferred.4. Proficient in the use of a personal computer.5. Excellent customer service skills to interact with department staff and the public.
