BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a supervisor of Broadcast Engineering, you will oversee elements of the necessary hardware, tools, blueprints, and software. You will be given daily assignments to a group of engineers and assist with the upkeep and repair of all broadcast systems and equipment. You are an essential part of a collaborative team that produces compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

Together with the IT team, evaluate, investigate, and suggest hardware and software purchases for the channels and newsrooms.Supporting design, installation, and commissioning for new project launches and continuing client broadcast system improvements.

Required Qualifications
Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAbility to work effectively in a complex 24/7 news environment by diagnosing and resolving or developing alternate methods to overcome issues and maintain continuity in on-air broadcastKnowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux Operating SystemsMaintain and grow technical and job knowledgeAbility to adapt to rapidly changing circumstancesKnowledge of various broadcast systems, including Cameras, Studio Equipment, Video Servers, ENG/DSNG trucksKnowledge of SDI video infrastructure, as well as fiber networks including 2110 IP VideoBasic knowledge of electrical systems, generators and UPS, along with familiarity with other major facility systemsAbility to supervise and motivate othersAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to organize and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to interface with internal company and division personnel at various levels and outside equipment vendors and suppliersEffective interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions to team members and other departmentsRequires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solvingAssist staff with technical support issuesWork independently with no supervision and guidanceAbility to work under time pressure deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Windows Server and SQL Enterprise serverComprehensive knowledge with TCP/IP Network topologies, and basic understanding of VLANS and Cisco WAN/LAN switchesSupervisory or leadership experience - 1+ years

Office environmentMay entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other issues that may arise. This includes but is not limited to severe weather emergenciesAbility to work various shifts, longer shifts, weekends and holidays, and be flexible with schedule changes due to "breaking news", and/or severe weather emergenciesOn-call availability 24/7Travel: 15% where applicableAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

The pay for this position has a salary range of $86,000.00 to $182,900.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
