Position Summary:The UAA Office of the Bursar plays a crucial role in supporting the university community by overseeing student accounts and managing other university receivables. We consider our students, as well as the generous donors and agencies supporting their educational endeavors, as our valued customers. Currently, we are seeking applications for the position of Student Account Analyst. The Student Account Analyst manages the disbursement of financial aid and other payment types in excess of account charges to students, and provides student-facing customer service by answering account and general university questions.
To thrive in this role, you will need excellent customer service skills with the ability to accurately interpret and apply policies, rules, and regulations to accounts to ensure compliance. In this role, you will exercise research, problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. You must be able to work independently and also as a successful team member. Effective collaboration across various university departments is essential to this role, fostering teamwork and cooperation. Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Word, Email, and database management, is essential. Previous experience in collaborative efforts across various departments to achieve common goals, showcasing effective teamwork and communication skills, is valued. Preferred qualifications include experience with Banner or other accounting information systems, highlighting familiarity with relevant tools and platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of college coursework in Accounting or a related field and two years of relevant experience. Alternatively, individuals with equivalent training and experience are encouraged to apply.
Position Details:
This position is physically located on the Anchorage campus. After initial training and job proficiency is gained, a limited hybrid schedule may be considered within department policy and university regulations.This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package (https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php) . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule (https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_staff_salary_grid.pdf) , Grade 77, based on education and experience.
