As a Strategy Team Leader you'll provide expert project management and team facilitation services to Publix business areas. In this role, you will work directly with business area leadership to develop business plans and implement business strategies across the entire company while working to minimize project expenses. Business plans contain key strategies and initiatives which enable business units to achieve their growth objectives. The Strategy Team Leader reports to the Manager of Strategy.
Primary responsibilities include the following: facilitate cross-functional teams comprised of high-level associates to execute strategic initiatives commissioned by officers of the company develop detailed project plans and status reports, communicate project status to the appropriate persons ensure that project deliverables are produced within established time frames, and proactively work to overcome project issues leverage the specialized skills of team members plan and oversee the work of consultants and other suppliers/vendors build a strong team environment on assigned projects efficiently organize information to reduce the time and effort required for the team to make decisions work proactively to identify and mitigate project risks facilitate cross-functional teams through complex business exercises such as analyzing business area strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats or making critical decisions using established problem-solving methodologies develop and maintain a basic knowledge of the supermarket industry, including emerging trends, opportunities, threats, and competitor strategies lead change management efforts to positively and proactively address emotions and behaviors resulting from changes that are introduced by projects develop or help develop updates, speeches, presentations, videos and other communications for officers facilitate quarterly Strategy Review Meetings and the annual business planning process for one or more business areas.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Engineering, Accounting, or related analytical discipline, or equivalent work experience 5 years of work experience in a corporate environment with at least 3 years of that experience in a strategic project management role superior leadership and coaching skills demonstrated ability to take responsibility and authority for multiple projects excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all levels of the organization ability to quickly assimilate project background information ability to facilitate team development of innovative solutions consistent with Publix's overall strategic direction understanding of continuous quality improvement methodologies willingness and ability to work a variable work schedule, including extended hours and weekends willing to travel occasionally with overnight stays willingness to commit to Publix and our Mission
Preferred Qualifications
three years' experience in facilitating cross-functional teams through complex issues, and knowledge of balanced scorecard methodology and business planning processes

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
