The Intern will be responsible for assisting the stationary power mechanical engineering team in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department's projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power's products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.Project SummaryConduct testing on air-cooled fuel cell system and components, analyze and present dataResearch and recommend alternate components for use in fuel cell systems and test fixturesDesign and modify existing parts and assemblies using 3D CAD modeling software PTC Creo and create associated part drawingsAssemble fuel cell system prototypes and test fixturesCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with Plug Power engineers on component research, product support and development.Assist with running fuel cell system and component testingAbility to independently set up experiments and monitor progressUnderstand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projectsAbility to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliabilityRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and QualificationPursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related programPrior Internship or Co-op experience preferredMust have reliable transportation to the officeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBackground/experience with statistical analysisPossess solid hands-on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90Plug Power Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
