In the Ford Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) program, Ford's Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide best-in-class performance for features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, cross traffic alert, active park assist and 360 camera systems. The DAT Performance Processor team develops and delivers software for advanced features that make use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in support of features such as Blue Cruise, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.

Work closely with the Ford ADAS teams to deliver software solutions to support development of ADAS product Participate in the design and implementation of core infrastructure frameworks in C++ on embedded production vehicles Design and execute test cases for software verification and validation Facilitate integration, testing, and debugging of developed software on target embedded hardware platforms Follow and help shape a process for rigorous production software development and delivery Act as a senior software leader and role model to the team Champion best practices for software design and production-level automotive-grade C++ software delivery

BS+ in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent 5+ years of software development in C++ 3+ years of software development and debugging in a POSIX environment

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing software in C++ through a rigorous professional software development process Experience developing and deploying software for embedded devices, preferably in the automotive industry Experience with developing production-level, high-reliability, safety-critical software Experience developing for real-time systems Experience with communications technologies and techniques, such as sockets, shared memory, TCP, UDP, etc. Experience with software version control tools such as git, svn, etc. Experience developing with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, etc. Familiarity with robotics and autonomous vehicles topics and sensor data Familiarity with robotics system frameworks such as ROS, DDS, etc. Familiarity with source code build orchestration tools such as Bazel, CMake, etc. Familiarity with software automation services such as Jenkins, Gradle, etc. Familiarity with software compilers and testing tools such as unit testing, linting, static analysis, sanitizers, etc. Familiarity with container creation, hosting, and deployment using Docker, DockerHub, etc. Familiarity with common configuration languages such as JSON, YAML, etc. Familiarity with design patterns and modern C++ techniques Strong interpersonal and communications skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of delivery for mission-critical functionality Experience with Agile development tools and best practices
