The LEAP engine is a culmination of cutting-edge technology, world-class reliability and unparalleled performance, and is the engine of choice to power the Airbus A320neo, the Boeing 737 MAX, and the COMAC C919.
Business targets for 2024 and 2025 cost out activities on the Leap product line is very challenging at greater than $600M. Developing and demonstrating cost out as a process is a big focus the next several years with high leadership visibility.
On this team, you will own design engineering cost projects on specific components or systems on the Leap engine. You will lead, execute, and report out project status to Leadership on a regular basis. Members of this team will also work very closely with our Supply Chain customer going to shops and sources for relationship building and project implementation. You will act in the capacity of an individual contributor.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Redesign of mechanical components of LEAP engine.
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects adhering to business standards and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering.
Have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Take new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Serve as best practice resource. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
Significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.
Master degree in engineering.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization and provide guidance to engineers with less experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with a sense of urgency.
English.
Understanding of manufacturing processes (preferably metal parts, automotive, aviation).
