Energy Transfer is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one ofthe largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the UnitedStates. In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 114,000miles of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gasliquids pipelines, terminals, and acquisition and marketing assets whichare used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas,natural gas liquids, and refined products.The E&I Engineer will provide technical support to Operation groups;mainly in day to day pipeline operation; Troubleshooting/diagnosis issue& provide reliable solution, and support operation projects; design,procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of gascompressor-stations and liquid pump-station facilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Assist with design and troubleshooting of automation systems, motors,protective devices, PLC logic, instrumentation, and other electricalequipment as part of pipeline and terminal operations.*Good analytical skills are required to diagnose problems and needs of thecustomers to make appropriate changes and recommendations. Must be able todevelop multiple alternatives to an individual problem or situation.*Primary regional electrical/control resource to Field Operations supportingpipeline and terminals.*Position may have primary responsibility to manage/Lead; scopedevelopment, engineering, design, construction and startup of assignedelectrical & instrumentation-related Operation/Capital projects forpipeline and terminal operations.*Oversees engineering performed by in-house designers and outside contractingfirms.*Prepares functional specifications and Cause & Effect for PLC systems.Provides technical assistance in specifying and troubleshooting electrical &control systems, instrumentation, and PLC devices.*Prepares technical standards, specifications and procedures for individualand company-wide assets.*Ensures compliance with PHMSA Regulations, Cyber Security (TSA) and CRM.*Develop or modifies control logic to meet changes in equipment or equipmentoperating conditions.*Provide training as needed for local I&E's and operations/maintenancepersonnel.*Responsible to review or update project specifications and designs related toelectrical equipment, facility power, power studies, utilityfeeds/distribution/connections/contracts/contract strategies, asrelated to projects or company goals.*Responsible for identifying Generator needs during commercial powerunavailability such as during Hurricane season or to meet Operation needs.
Requirements:Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position arelisted below:*B.S. degree in electrical, electronic, instrument control or relatedengineering discipline with Ten plus yea s of pipeline engineering anddesign, operations and maintenance experience related to area of expertise.*Minimum of 5 years related experience in pipeline and/or refineryenvironment.*Knowledge of industry safety practices and relevant codes.*Ability to develop and present multiple alternatives to an individual problemor situation.*Strong verbal and written communications skills; good organizational skills.*Experience developing piping, instrument and electrical diagrams.*Must have well developed PC skills, (Microsoft Office: WORD, EXCEL,POWERPOINT, ACCESS, MS Project, etc.)*Experience/knowledge AB Control/Compact Logix, SLC, PLC5, SiemensS7, GE FANUC 90-70 & 90-30, Schneider PLC equipment and programming,hardwire relay ladder logic, RSView, Wonderware, Mapple and CimplicityHMI interface software & hardware, SCADA interface, OMNI flow computersand other process control devices.*Experience/Knowledge of Gateway devices; Prosoft, Redline and Digi etcand communication protocol like modbus, DF1, PCCC, CIP.*Must be a strong team leader as well as active member.*Travel within regional geographic area to and from individual responsibleregional area is requiredPreferred Experience:*This position commands a wide range of knowledge and experience in dealingwith a variety of electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.*PLC programming requires the ability to model complex existing or proposedoperations by breaking the physical operation into discrete components.*This requires identifying the dependent and independent relationships of somepieces of data, and packaging it into a single program.*All the data needs to be interwoven and integrated with established system
