About the role:
Leads efforts within the organization to drive the development and maintenance of backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.
About the Team:
Uber Offers and Ads are the fastest growing areas in the company, balancing the marketplace across merchants, advertisers, consumers and Uber. A Sr Staff engineer on this team will drive large system changes and work closely with products and business operations folks to identify and solve a series of problems across various parts of the 4 sided marketplace. We are just scratching the surface of building a world class advertising and marketing platform for our marketers to reach our active users on the Uber platform. This is an opportunity to take an already scaled business and grow it exponentially by solving deep technical challenges with great opportunities to continuously learn and grow.
Minimum qualifications:
BSc or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field AND 6-years full-time Software Engineering work experience WHICH INCLUDES technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)Strong understanding of technical architecture, system design, and problem solving acumen on complex technical challengesExperience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Data Science, and Business partnersTechnical skills:

Distributed systemsExperience leading small teams / driving problems through to solutions
Preferred:

Work with the team and it's cross functional partners to define the broader architecture for Ads domainIdentify gaps and opportunities to improve overall innovation, operational and engineering efficiency for the Ads teamsDeep dive into ambiguous areas to create clarity and drive executionWork with the broader engineering organization to adopt best practices that enables faster innovationBring high energy to the Ads team with deep domain expertise

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$243,000 per year - USD$270,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$243,000 per year - USD$270,000 per year.
