The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Game Tech Solutions Architecture team is looking for an experienced and motivated technologist with a passion for creating strategies and best practices, and solving complex business challenges focusing on the Games industry.
In this role, you will work with some of the most interesting hyper-growth games companies on the planet. You’ll work with gaming startups, indie studios, legendary blockbuster publishers, technology platforms, and middleware partners in the Games industry to help them build, run, and grow with the AWS cloud.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and should have a deep understanding of Game technologies including engines, platforms, and middleware providers alongside applicable technical use cases, architectures, and development workflow. They should also have the ability to connect technology with measurable business value and also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
Key job responsibilities
Work with your teammates and cross-functional stakeholders to help develop the strategic plan for AWS in the gaming industry, particularly the technical elements of the strategy and plan to engage customers and partners.
Identify, develop, and share technical best practices in order to improve the experience for game companies integrating with AWS. Typical examples include technical solutions using infrastructure-as-code (i.e. CloudFormation/CDK/Terraform), reference architectures and implementation guides, blogs, white papers, hands-on workshops, and proof-of-concepts.
Establish technical credibility in customer engagements including with CTOs, CIOs, Chief Architects, Senior Developers, etc. from both customers and partners across the industry.
Work with Engine, Platform, and Middleware Technology customers and partners to deploy, pilot and scale Games industry focused programs working with sales enablement, regional business development teams, and account teams.
Conduct customer briefings, present at customer events, further AWS Game Tech solutions-led thought leadership in the industry domains.
A day in the life
This is a customer-facing technical role that works directly with with engineers and other technical stakeholders at gaming companies to help them integrate with AWS. The internal stakeholders you will most frequently interact with are across Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Product and Engineering, and Support teams. In a typical day, you will be meeting with customers (typically virtually, but also in-person) to understand their business requirements and technology strategy and identify how AWS can help them succeed. For example, you'll lead architecture reviews of their technology stack with their technical teams; you'll help them overcome challenges integrating with AWS, build the backend infrastructure powering their games and prepare for new game launches, or guide them through the development of new capabilities or optimization of existing capabilities using AWS. SAs typically lead hands-on workshops to show customers how to integrate with AWS to address their use cases, as well as collaborate with teammates within AWS on development projects to create and publish new technical solutions to improve the customer experience and scale adoption of best practice patterns.

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
Experience working with end user or developer communities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
