International expansion is a key growth driver at AWS Marketplace and developing the right tax features is a critical part of our success. AWS Marketplace is revolutionizing discovery, procurement, and fulfillment of digital software and services. Our goal is to make AWS Marketplace the easiest place for our buyers, sellers, and channel partners to transact.
As a Sr. Product Manager for Marketplace Taxes, you’ll focus on building and improving the tax experience for our global buyers and sellers and designing new features to scale the business. Your responsibilities will include engaging with existing buyers, sellers, and channel partners and partnering with stakeholders including other AWS service teams. You’ll identify requirements, define product features, and work closely with UX designers and engineering teams to deliver features related to the tax experience for our customers. You will learn about capabilities of internal teams and should be able to influence and communicate effectively to all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings.

You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven’t been solved at scale before. You will gain an understanding of how AWS operates and influence the direction of how AWS strategically is focus on global expansion.
You operate at all levels, diving deep into the details while providing strategic direction for the product. You will scope, design, and implement product and application features that deliver customer benefit at scale. You will work closely with other product managers, UX designers, and software engineers to deliver critical and complex products and features. You will own spec and business critical docs. You will mentor junior team members to improve their skills and raise the bar on business best practices. You’re expected to think like an owner, driving the right thinking on time to market, quality, and breadth of functionality for users.
You will define the experience for launching new features to enable our global buyers and sellers to streamline their businesses through AWS Marketplace. Our goal is to make AWS Marketplace the easiest place for our buyers, sellers, and channel partners to transact and transparently measure usage. Your decisions will impact the way that buyers and sellers interact with our systems.
Successful applicants will have a working knowledge of US sales tax, international VAT/GST concepts, and data sharing requirements relating to digital marketplaces, as well as, experience defining products, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical product management with internet business experience
3+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
