The Sr Mgr, HR Communications will support the leadership in implementing the HR Communications strategy. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of key messages in support of various HR initiatives and strategy. Working closely with HR leaders, this position will act as counsel to align communications needs with overall strategy, develop content in consultation with HR SMEs, and adhere to brand objectives. With oversight from VP, HR Communications, develops and executes comprehensive communications plans on a wide variety of HR initiatives, managing several projects simultaneously. By developing innovative communications solutions, helps mass or targeted audiences understand and appreciate the benefits and programs that Charter provides as a means to maintain employee engagement and retention, while enhancing employees' perceptions of working at and having a career with Charter.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement and drive HR communications strategy under the direction of the Vice President, HR CommunicationsDevelop, edit, proofread and/or review various communication materials (print and digital) for style, understanding and consistency in messaging with other communications materialsCreate or oversee development of deliverables designed to educate employees on the various tools, resources and programs that the Company provides for employees and their familiesPartner with HR and Corporate Physical Security SMEs and project teams to develop and implement communication and change management strategies that support HR initiatives
Primary areas of focus include:
The development, launch and maintenance of an online total rewards platform with a third-party vendorThe production and distribution of print total rewards statements mailed to the home of all Charter employees, two times per yearThe development, launch and ongoing management of a one-year new hire experience for all Charter employees including toolkits for local HR/leaders, HR training materials and employee-facing presentations and a complex targeted email campaign that varies by audience.Continue promotion and support of "investing in you" messaging across existing communication channelsDevelop and maintain communications to support key Corporate Physical Security initiatives including leader toolkits, newsletters and supporting training materialsDevelop and manage effective communications measures and analytics to assess and improve performance as relates to any HR initiative delivered via any mediumManage planning, developing and implementing numerous HR-related communications for the Organization; identifies, creates and maximizes communication opportunitiesMay work with or oversee external vendors in support of the HR communication activitiesFull use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniquesProvide resolutions to an assortment of problems of complex scopeUse judgment within defined practices and proceduresContribute to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectivesPerform other duties as assigned by Vice President, HR Communications to support HR communications programs, campaigns, and initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Demonstrated writing skills required, social media experience a plusDemonstrated manage vendor partners (specifically, graphic design and printing) to meet project deadlines and stay within project budgetsAbility to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, media in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional mannerAbility to use personal computer and software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Ability to analyze and interpret dataAbility to attend to detailAbility to communicate with all levels of management and company personnelAbility to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasksAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to prioritize and organize effectively
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
7-10 years in HR or Internal communications related position
