SQUAD LEADER, OBSERVABILITY PLATFORM MANAGEMENT - DIRECTOR
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineering Leader to lead a dedicated team of platform management engineers. The successful candidate will create and drive the Observability Platform Management roadmap with a strong focus on operational excellence, platform reliability, scalability and automation within a multi hybrid cloud environment.
The Team
Fidelity's Cloud and Platform Engineering (CAPE) mission is to power the next generation of Fidelity digital services through innovation, collaboration, and transparency. Modern computing paradigms, cloud computing and open source software offer tremendous potential to accelerate development and drive down costs. Within CAPE, architecture, infrastructure, development tools, security, operations and cloud business office functions work together in agile, delivery-oriented teams to build/configure/sustain internal and external cloud platforms with development ecosystems.
The Expertise You Have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to quarterback engineering teams to deliver scalable robust solutions.Forward thinking and strategic mentality to be able to recognize and connect patterns to both improve and simplify the platformExpertise delivering solutions that look to proactively seek opportunities to continuously improve overall platform availability and reliabilityExpertise using data-driven decision-making to provide in-depth insights into platform behavior and performance using chaos test/observability dataExpertise in Observability technologies and practices and well-grounded in the knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices.Expertise with multiple observability backends such as Datadog, Splunk and Cloud Providers such as AWS/AzureUnderstanding of opensource observability ecosystem in particular OpenTelemetryUnderstanding of the different Observability approaches, how to apply them and whenUnderstanding and experience in developing security controls in public cloudYou have a strong understanding of IT services, IT Service Management in an Enterprise context and cloud delivery models including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS; automation; containers; auto-scaling, virtual compute, storage, and networking; identity and access management; configuration management, incident management, problem management, asset management, logging and audit.Passionate about technology and delivering solutions to solve business problems using cloud native technologies

Develop and implement a forward-looking strategic vision and roadmap for observability platform management aligning with overarching business objectivesOversee the health of our production environments through operational leadership of our multi-hybrid cloud platformsProvide leadership and guidance to continuously optimize the platform through automation, testing and monitoringMaintain and improve incident response and disaster recovery plans for the platformPartner with Compliance and Security functions, maintaining a highly secure platformInvestigate, prove out and incorporate new technologies and capabilities to drive the technology vision for Fidelity's secure cloud platforms.Collaborate with other product and engineering leads and senior management on product and delivery requirements, roadmaps and vision.Drive large, complex projects through effective cross-functional collaboration and communication
