Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, MI or Concord, NC three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
GM Motorsports Competition Engineering is seeking a Motorsports Systems and Electronics Engineer to join our growing program. Working with GM Motorsports Competition Engineering to support LMDh and GT3 sports car programs you will support partner teams running the car and the program developing the vehicle. Systems support will be required during and immediately following each test/race. Travel to the races and tests on a regular basis may be required.

Support and evolve systems configurations Support design, integration, function, and analysis of test items Determine requirements and track to completion vehicle updates Analyze data for system functionality and reliability Troubleshoot problems in high paced environments Setup bench testing capabilities and test solutions Collaborate across departments and companies to work towards common goals Document changes in software, hardware, configurations, and procedures

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study 5+ years of engineering experience following the completion of degree Racing / high performance vehicle experience Ability to handle multiple programs efficiently
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with race vehicle system installation, calibration, development, and analysis Advanced vehicle configuration setup (steering wheel, PDM, logger, etc) Sensor maintenance, calibration, and design Understanding of CAN based sensor and data acquisition system wiring Understanding of motorsport communications protocol: CAN 2.0/FD, Ethernet, RS232 Ability to gather multiple forms of user feedback and achieve a common solution Knowledge of programming devices and networking (telnet, FTP) Experience designing, producing, and repairing motorsport wiring harnesses
