Job Summary
The Specialist, Solution Management is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, optimization of reporting platforms such as BusinessObjects, PowerBI, and Tableau and Incident & Task Management on ServiceNow. The primary focus will be ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of these reporting tools to meet the organization's business intelligence needs. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT support, to implement and support reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Configuration and Administration:
• Install, administrate, configure, and maintain reporting platforms, including BusinessObjects, PowerBI, and Tableau.
• Implement security measures and user access controls to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance, addressing any issues that may impact reporting capabilities.
User Support and Training:
• Provide user support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems related to reporting tools.
• Conduct training sessions for end-users and administrators to enhance their proficiency in utilizing reporting platforms effectively.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
• Work closely with business analysts and data developers and data engineers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Collaborate with other I&T teams to integrate reporting platforms with other systems and databases.
Upgrades and Patch Management:
• Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and updates for reporting platforms, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and data sources.
• Test and validate new features and enhancements before deployment to minimize disruption.
Documentation:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for reporting platform configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Develop and update user guides and training materials.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
• Monitor and analyze the performance of reporting platforms, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Implement best practices for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to enhance reporting speed and accuracy.
Collaboration with Vendors:
• Liaise with reporting platform vendors to stay informed about updates, new features, and best practices.
• Manage relationships with vendors to address support issues and explore opportunities for enhancements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in administering reporting platforms such as BusinessObjects, PowerBI, and Tableau.
• Strong knowledge of database management, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
