JOB DESCRIPTION
Manufacturing Digital Engineering (MDE) Product line is looking for a software support specialist to join our team of passionate technical specialists, software engineers, and product managers dedicated to build & support software products for our Manufacturing Engineers and Plant Floor specialists.
As a key member of our Manufacturing I.T. team, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of Ford's mobility and electrification efforts. You will be part of a team of dedicated software professionals that will help us to iteratively build and ship high-quality software products to help our customers build quality vehicles.
Manufacturing Digital Engineering (MDE) is responsible for providing the tools to manufacturing engineers so that they may deliver new vehicle programs, including launch and continuous plant optimization. Within MDE, the Facility Design and Visualization Product Team provides state of the art methods and technologies used to author, maintain and visualize 3D CAD drawings of our manufacturing facilities, creating a facility digital twin. This digital twin can be used to visualize these facility drawings using Augmented and Virtual Reality and enable immersive training applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide application management and IT support to end users for software applications used by manufacturing layout engineers at Ford. These are primarily commercial off the shelf applications (i.e. Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks) Provide application management and IT support for plant layout data management tools (Autodesk Vault) Provide solution development and support for Augmented and Virtual Reality immersive learning software solutions (i.e. Microsoft Guides, TheoremXR, Unity) Develop software solutions to interface with applications used for plant layout authoring, facility drawing management and immersive learning Coordinate application deployment, license management and technical issues related to engineering applications Work with the technology suppliers to escalate and resolve Ford issues Establish strong working relationship with facility design stakeholders to ensure that plans and requirements are fully understood and issues are resolved effectively and efficiently
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Experience with 3D CAD PLM systems, i.e. Teamcenter, Vault, 3DX Experience with programming technologies such as: C#, Python, Unity, for occasional use Experience providing application support to end users for Autodesk PLM applications. Good organizational and time-management skills Team-oriented with excellent oral/written communication skills and willingness to work with global teams Willingness to be on site in Dearborn area 2-3 days a week
Desired Skills:
Technical experience with deployment of externally developed software Experience with CAD programming languages such as: AutoLISP, iLogic, NXOpen Experience with Augmented/Virtual Reality technologies Knowledge of Cloud technologies: GCP, Azure Manufacturing background Experience shaping and driving Proof of Concepts and Pilots Experience with continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies
