Description
Help us push the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure to new heights! The AWS Data Center Systems team builds services to monitor and data center infrastructure controls monitoring and alerting systems. Our services directly contribute to the high availability of AWS data centers and Amazon’s sustainability goals. Teams in Data Center Systems solve problems of massive metric ingestion, distributed systems/cloud computing, data visualization, anomaly detection, analytics, and graph networks.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about leading the architecture and development of application software that helps keep Amazon data centers running efficiently and securely. On any given day, we use Python, Java, Go, Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation, as well as other public AWS services and a host of Amazon-internal tools.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you’ll be leading the design, development, testing and launch of new data acquisition and transport services in the data center infrastructure space. You will work with senior members and junior members in the team to build new features. You will make sure enough test has been done to maintain the quality of the delivered software. You will join the oncall rotation to help solving customer issues in the production system and drive best practices that enable a quality product. Above all, you will care deeply about the customer and delight in creating simple and elegant solutions that solve our customers’ biggest challenges.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex projects in the future.
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. It isn’t about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it’s about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.
