Summary:
The LCSW social worker provides direct Social Work services to patients and families coping with acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling/clinical therapy aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement in order to support the familys effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.
Education and Experience:
LCSW from an accredited school of Social WorkPrevious experience in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and families is preferredCurrent Texas License for LCSWBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Health Care Providers within 30 days of employmentIf physically unable to complete BLS for Health Care Providers, then the employee will have the option of attending a Heart Saver program on campus or attending an outside course using a non-computerized mannequin
Certification/Licensure:
Current Texas License for LCSWBasis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained per Medical Center Policy, MC 175
