Job Summary
The Social Media Intern will support the Executive Director of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE). We are looking for a social media guru with experience creating content for social media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and TikTok This Intern will have exposure to an executive office environment and the opportunity to contribute to the following: Create social media marketing content for the Executive Director of the IEEE. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal attributes are anchored in the following: • Business insight - applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals. Functional expertise - subject matter expertise of specific function(s), including knowledge of principles, practices, and domain knowledge. Adaptability - the ability to adjust your approach or actions in response to changes in your external environment. Clear communication - the ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to gain understanding. Assist with the design and execution of the ED’s LinkedIn profile. Help create and adhere to a regular posting schedule. Draft interactive content Create LinkedIn carousels and videos of speaking engagements. Manage Direct Messaging communications. Brainstorm and research ideas for original content Continually track and measure follower growth, engagement rate, video views, and other relevant data Adherence to Brand Strategy Messaging strategy Brand voice Visual branding Graphic design for visual rhetoric Create compelling graphics and video snippets to increase engagement
Complete special projects as set forth by the manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or pursuing an MBA in communications, marketing, technology, or a related field.
· Strong understanding and interest in the social media space with a pulse in emerging conversations and trends. Excellent written communication skills and speech writing experience would be a plus, not required. Knowledge of social marketing/copywriting ability Proficiency in tools for graphic design, video editing, and social media scheduling (for example: Canva, Descript, and Hootsuite) Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to be both methodical and organized. Collaborative team player who can take & and execute notes for edits. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online research, etc.
