TMMWV Skilled Group Leader - Production Maintenance
About the Opportunity:
The Group Leader School Program will create a pool of trained and capable candidates to support current and future Group Leader openings throughout all TMMWV departments.
This position requires a high level of understanding and ability in the areas of team building and communication with Skilled Team Members and Skilled Team Leaders. Skilled Group Leaders are responsible for developing strong working relationship with their team to ensure good and frequent communication on all matters that impact the team including but not limited to implementation of new kaizens, mandatory overtime calls, policy changes, wages, benefits, and conflict resolution. the Skilled Group Leader will support Toyota’s Special Maintenance – Three Function System: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Quick Repair.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead / manage team:
Oversee Maintenance repair and troubleshooting activity on the shop floor
Plan monthly, weekly, and daily work activity for your team(s)
Develop all Team Members through Toyota FMDS (Floor Management Development System) and 5S activities.
Develop all Team Members’ understanding of the three functions of maintenance for consistent application.
Remove roadblocks to achieve the company targets
Manage projects:
Manage equipment reliability improvement projects through kaizen, changeover, and rebuild.
Manage capital projects as needed (up to $500k, sometimes larger)
Execute/Manage Projects (Project Studies, Justification, Approval, and Schedule Achievement)
Manage processes :
Support Preventive Maintenance function through exceptional equipment installation and development at start of new project.
Support Predictive Maintenance through preventive maintenance, product development management, and daily maintenance/ownership.
Effectively manage cost budgets. Implement kaizens to provide effective cost management of maintenance related activities.
Qualifications – Internal
REQUIRED :
High School Diploma with working knowledge of the manufacturing industry
Complete Realistic Job Preview (RJP) within 24 months
Broad knowledge of production safe work practices
Knowledge of Floor Management Development System (FMDS)
Experience with preparing/delivering technical presentations, developing others and relationship building
Previous leadership experience in manufacturing
Toyota Business Practice (TBP) application experience
Availability to work ALL of the following shifts
Mon-Fri 2:00pm—10:30pm
Sun-Thurs 10:00pm—6:30am
Sun-Thurs 7:15pm—4:00am
Eligible for Transfer/Promotion per Regional Policies (for more information access policies from the Toyota Portal)
PREFERRED :
4 year Technical/Leadership focused college degree
Application knowledge of Floor Management Development System (FMDS)
Leadership experience in Lean Manufacturing Systems
Supervisory experience including conducting formal reviews and coaching to maximize performance
Passed TBP Panel
