About the Role:
As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer in our Performance Automation Team, you will lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of industry-leading optimization and recommendation products.Your responsibilities will encompass not only the creation of ETL pipelines but also the evolution of architectures to accommodate real-time temporal data for decision-making, especially in our high-latency, high-throughput bidders.As a seasoned professional, you will be expected to solve challenges at a scale considered "not-solvable" by many, bringing transformative solutions to life.Your role will go beyond individual contribution as you will mentor and guide junior team members, ensuring knowledge transfer, best practice sharing, and fostering an environment of continuous learning.Collaboration is key: You will be liaising with multiple teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across systems, and your recommendations will significantly influence our product roadmaps.
Who We Are Looking For:
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience with ETL processes, real-time model deployment, and development tailored for optimization and recommendations.Mastery in programming languages like C#, Java, Python. Proficiency in distributed systems using tools like Spark/Scala.Deep experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.Demonstrated history of working in large-scale environments, with an emphasis on real-time decision-making architectures.Familiarity with AWS and other cloud ecosystems, with the ability to optimize for scale and performance.Prior experience in guiding teams or mentoring junior engineers is a must.Comprehensive understanding of Agile development methodology.

Our Compensation and Benefits (for NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only)
At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$133,700 -$245,100
In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.
