The Role
AMERGINT is seeking a highly technical and diversely talented Senior TechnicalWriter with 7 years of experience to help write, edit, and formatinformative and compelling technical content (e.g., user guides,datasheets, product brochures, operating procedures, white papers, andmore) for both internal and external audiences. This position requiresattention to detail, the confidence to jump in and construct technicaldocuments very quickly and with minimal supervision, the spirit to exploreand champion fresh communication ideas and trends, and an enthusiasm toshape our library of "how-to" material. This is a writing position-notjust editing-so if you enjoy crafting original technical content, thisposition is for you. Please be prepared to send a portfolio/writing samples.
This position is located onsite in our Colorado Springs, CO office.
Core ResponsibilitiesWrite, organize, review, and edit highly technical content for userguides, quick start cards, datasheets, product brochures, whitepapers, technical design presentations, and other technical projectdeliverableDevelop and maintain corporate content, including Policy & Proceduredocuments, forms, Knowledge Articles, etc.Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing engineers, referencing technicalcollateral, participating in project meetings, and engaging subject matterexperts.Collaboratively develop, implement, and monitor strategic goals andinitiatives that advance the usability of technical publications and improveteam workflow.Conceptualize technical visuals (for example, block diagrams, complextables, infographics, How-To videos, etc.) to help engage readers andconvey highly technical information in a friendly way. Coordinate design withour graphic artist.Precisely format content in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint (usingtemplates and styles).Edit internal and external content to ensure that it upholds our branding,style, and industry standards.Support the quality and continuous improvement of technical documents bymotivating content review teams, soliciting feedback, and implementingstrategic change protocols that capitalize on opportunities to add value withtechnical communications.Schedule and coordinate technical publication deliverables across the team.Select or recommend use of layouts, visuals, tables, charts, etc. toamplify or clarify publications objectives.Mentor junior writers and editors.
Required SkillsBachelor's degree in Technical Communications or related field.7 years of experience in a technical communications/content creator role.Desire to contribute to an exceptional customer experience.Knack for making technical content clear and concise.Ability to drive communication with engineers and project managers.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Word and PowerPoint.Exceptional organizational skills.Impeccable grammar.Ability to work on multiple deliverables at once, often with tight deadlines.May need to obtain and maintain a security clearance for this position.
Preferred SkillsExperience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, AdobePhotoshop, SnagIt, SharePoint, WordPress, and single-sourcing tools(e.g., Paligo, AuthorIT, SmartDocs, etc.).Experience in the aerospace industry.

What We OfferColorado pay range from: $100,000 to $110,000 annually.
