Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband internet connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Program Manager for PCBA Test and Manufacturing Engineering, you have the ability to dive deep on the details to identify, understand, and solve difficult technical problems and also utilize a system level approach to prioritize issues for a whole program.
• Effectively manage stakeholders to successfully deliver the agreed upon scope.
• Overcome technical challenges by guiding the team to solutions that enable on-time deliveries.
Assess costs and benefits, identify and mitigate risks; manage escalations; anticipate and make tradeoffs; and balance business needs with technical constraints.
• Clearly communicate project and program status, responsibilities and issues to stakeholders
• Evaluate the requirements and define actions that close gaps between design and manufacturing readiness for products in our global infrastructure
• Gain concurrence on production readiness including integration requirements, financial sustainability, supplier qualification, and supplier diversification
• Plan for global and regional, PCBA test, process validation, deployment schedules, and production readiness activities
• Develop schedules for manufacturing process qualification efforts and deployment of PCBA test systems
• Collaborate across organizations (Engineering, Development, Finance, Operations) and be the linchpin for successful delivery of products
• Build trust and relationships with various stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Development, Finance, Operations)
• Comfortably address and resolve ambiguity

About the team
The PCBA Manufacturing and Test Engineering team is an inclusive, inter-disciplinary team that is committed to the performance, quality, & reliability of Kuiper’s PCBAs. Your breadth of exposure will be immense as you collaborate with other core groups, guiding the hardware from design to production. You use data to understand the factors that drive manufacturability, reliability, and quality objectives in product design and development.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline or related experience
6 or more years’ of project or program management experience OR 8 years of project management experience when substituting experience for degree
6 or more years' experience in core project management disciplines managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality along with risk and critical path management
4 or more years' experience leading highly technical programs involving complex electromechanical systems for product development teams
Practical experience with standard project management tools
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in, engineering or a related technical discipline
PMP or similar certification
Experience analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection
Diverse work experience, including experience on innovative programs and a business curiosity/strategic viewpoint
Experience with modern program management methodologies
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, ambiguous work environment
Experience developing PCBA products including hardware design, manufacturing, and supply chain
Smartsheet proficiency
Atlassian tool chain proficiency
Experience with communicating and briefing senior executives
Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
