Practice Area Profile
What You'll Do
Our strategic design team develops transformative solutions informed by deep consumer research and insight. They work to uncover the intangible attitudes, behaviours, and motivations that drive people's choices and desires. By identifying key consumer pain points, our strategic designers can create contextually impactful venture opportunities and platforms through empathetic design thinking.
In this role you will:
Invent and develop vision, features & value propositions for nascent concepts that will be grounded in rigorous research
Conduct primary qualitative research investigations that help strategically frame, validate, or challenge other forms of research.
Develop ethnographic research and contextual design investigations to understand customer behaviours, pain points, needs, and aspirations.
Conduct deep socio, tech, and market trend analysis and research interesting exemplars in the marketplace.
Analyse research results, identify behavioural patterns and opportunity areas, and develop actionable insights.
Bring your research to life through compelling visual storytelling (e.g., personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories, scenarios, infographics, service models)
Design and facilitate internal workshops (e.g. ideation sessions) and external workshops with multi-disciplinary teams and corporate partners.
Converge innovative ideas to a set of digital and physical products or services in collaboration with Experience Designers, Venture Architects, Product Managers, and Engineers.
Iteratively design, test, and refine disruptive products and services.
Translate and show your understanding what research means for business ideas.
Drive the design strategy and make sure the customer perspective is the guiding principle along the whole process.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
(Graduate) Degree in either Design, Business, Psychology, Strategy, Marketing or a related field.
4+ years of relevant experience in ethnographic research, divergent exploration, concept development, and building products, gained from working in an innovation agency, startup, or tech company.
Fluency in French highly desirable.
An informative portfolio of work demonstrating strong human-centred design capabilities across a diverse range of projects.
Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, empathy and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams.
Prototyping and visualisation skills.
General understanding of business models and economics.
Proven presentation and storytelling skills, including board presentations.
Solid slide writing skills.
* Copywriting, branding or visual implementation skills are a plus.
