Hearst E-commerce is a newly formed organization focused on developing and supporting E-Commerce across Hearst's consumer media portfolio. Your Impact
The E-Commerce organization develops tools for use by Hearst's collection of publications, ranging from marketplace platforms to local business and service discovery tools. As these projects have matured, so has the demand for quality assurance and testing of these products to ensure they meet specifications and maintain high customer experience standards. In 2024, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance strategy and driving the overall quality of multiple products across our organization. Additionally, you will play a key role in automating user experience testing and ensuring efficient and effective testing processes.
Solving this problem is a multidisciplinary problem that extends beyond quality engineering. As an early hire in a newly formed function within the organization, you will develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for multiple products within the organization. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and designers, to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization. Your Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for multiple products within Hearst's E-Commerce platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality objectives and requirements for each product. Identify and prioritize key quality metrics and KPIs to measure and enhance the overall quality of the products. Establish guidelines and best practices for quality assurance processes and ensure their implementation across the organization. Lead the effort in automating user experience testing to improve testing efficiency and accuracy. Evaluate and select appropriate tools and frameworks for automating user experience testing. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for user experience testing, including UI testing, usability testing, and performance testing. Continuously enhance and optimize the automation testing framework to ensure maximum test coverage and reliability. Collaborate and lead.
Collaborate with software engineers to identify, report, and track software defects and drive their resolution. Provide regular updates on testing progress, test results, and quality metrics to stakeholders. Analyze and interpret test data and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement in product quality. About You

Proven experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or in a similar role, overseeing quality assurance and automation testing for multiple products. Fluency with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar. Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes. Solid understanding of user experience testing principles and techniques for web applications and mobile applications. Proficiency in API testing via Postman, Insomnia, Swagger, JMeter, or similar tools Ability to translate requirements into test plans. Excellent critical thinking and debugging skills. A bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent real-life experience. This position is fully remote and is available to applicants in the contiguous United States.
