POSITION OVERVIEW
The incumbent will deliver the vision of driving a competitive advantage for the Royal Caribbean Group, Ltd and its subsidiaries through cutting edge transformation & product delivery capabilities. Focused on the most critical portfolio of products, he / she will be uniquely suited to lead and deliver maximum business impacts with confidence, speed, and transparency.
The Project Director will partner directly with the heads of the CFO office to provide end- to-end leadership to assigned projects, while leveraging best practices in strategic thinking, planning and service delivery. He / she will lead a team of cross functional professionals through enterprise-wide initiatives with an emphasis on the Group's financial transformation. An immediate focus will be placed on the Group's new ERP implementation and enabling technologies.
This is a high impact, highly visible, highly cross-functional role that will help deliver the technology roadmap, which enables the vision for the financial and operational systems. Furthermore, he/she will help oversee the project governance, planning, operational design, and technology development (i.e. design, testing, implementation) processes.
The role will require working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with members of the CFO office, IT, and shared services at various levels. The position will use project management methods to drive the Group's key performance indicators and meet the business goals, objectives, and outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help lead the project initiatives that deliver the vision for the CFO office, which includes Finance, Accounting, Internal Audit, Treasury, Revenue Planning, Risk Management, Supply Chain and Guest Travel Services.Support the project discovery, development and operational roadmaps that enables the vision for the financial and operational systems.Co-lead the transformation of various enterprise-wide technology implementations, with an immediate focus on the Group's ERP transformation and enabling technology.Help oversee the project governance processes, and other core processes that include planning, CAR management, operational design, and technology development (i.e. design, testing, implementation), change management, project reporting, and system/operational enhancements.Proactively organizes internal and external resources to make recommendations to development / operational plans using strong financial and business discipline, while driving cross functional accountability.Leverage data to define business impact, validate scope, understand risks, perform rigorous problem solving, shape priorities, and monitor project performance.Co-lead a cross-functional team that plans, prioritizes and delivers the financial (i.e. ERP) and operational (i.e. Source-to-Pay) systems.Collaborate with members of the CFO office, IT, and shared services at various levels to deliver business plans and goals.Provide expert project management capabilities to large capital projects that include major technology / software upgrades. Typical projects can range from $5M - $50M in size, require team sizes of 10 - 100 in complexity and can last 1 - 3 years in implementation.Deploy and oversee transformative initiatives that require high levels of change management. Typical initiatives include operationalizing and scaling the business impact of technology deployments, which are complex and operationally critical.Leads, mentors, and provides overall direction of a team consisting of senior managers, managers and/or professionals supporting a highly matrixed operating department.Serves as an in-house transformation and project management leader that elevates the Group's project delivery standards/practices, while expanding impact and scale.Utilizes advanced project management methods to lead, develop and oversee the assigned initiatives, while delivering on expected project performance and keeping executives from various operational groups, global partners and project stakeholders aligned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's highly degree preferred>15 years of relevant experience with large transformations, project management, and strategic initiatives; with >10 years' experience leading high performing teamsDemonstrates leadership skills and ability to effectively manage resources, processes, and technical systems in a large matrix organizationAbility to manage large projects, large vendors, and a complex set of deliverablesExperience with ERP systems like Oracle Fusion/SAP, and procurement systems like Coupa/Ariba is highly desirableStrong competence with understanding and interpreting technical architectures, technical design, and development methodologiesAbility to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using extensive technical and mathematical methods (e.g., forecasting, problem solving, qualitative analysis) to deal with several variablesKnowledge of financial operations, financial controls, financial reporting, supply chain operations, supply chain systems, and/or other shared service operations.Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities, along with excellent financial acumen that leads to the bottom lineSuperior written and verbal communication skills with the flexibility communicate at all levels of the organization, as well as with external global partnersExcellent interpersonal skills, strength in communicating in multicultural environments and in high stakes situations. Must be skilled at keeping various groups aligned, often providing skilled moderation to address conflict, while maintaining performanceExperience with capital request, budgeting, approval, reconciliation, and reporting processesStrong skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Jointly accountable for the annual financial and non-financial targets for projects, with spend between $5M - $50MWorks with the Finance Department to plan capital projects, set and track OpEx budgets forecasts, cost controls and reporting
