About the Role

　　About the role:

　　The role will drive and support the execution of Real Estate (RE) CAPEX projects throughout the project life cycle. He/ she will be responsible for overseeing key milestones to ensure timely delivery of projects and to produce desired results, while staying within scope and budget.

　　In addition to be responsible of RE projects in the region of Asia Pacific, China and Japan (APCJ), the primary objective of this role in 2024 is to ensure efficient execution of Environmental Sustainable (ES) projects and meet sustainability and financial goals, by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for continuous monitoring, reporting, and control of ES project implementation.

　　An in-house project manager enables better control over project management and brings cost savings to Novartis.

　　Key Responsibilities:

　　• Lead and drive regional CAPEX projects across APCJ region, with key focus on the China CAPEX projects, as well as APAC countries where bandwidth allows.

　　• Prepare project investment documentation, business models and project financing strategies and develop capital appropriation requests (CAR).

　　• Prepare detailed schedules, perform value improvement reviews, and supervise the implementation in cooperation with internal and external teams.

　　• Planning and organization of project resourcing with procurement including user requirements preparation, expediting, inspection, logistic coordination, contracting etc.

　　• Assess and manage project risks (safety, quality, functional, project execution) and implement risk mitigation strategies.

　　• Prepare plans and implementation of project controls. Ensures all functions remain on schedule and issues get resolved or escalated.

　　• Follow up global environmental sustainability (ES) strategy and instructions and participate global and region ES meetings.

　　• Track and oversee ES projects and initiatives at all Novartis sites across APCJ, including budget application, implementation, etc.

　　Consult and drive teams to find ES projects opportunities and study feasibility.

　　Role Requirements

　　Essential Requirements:

　　• Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent

　　• Fluent in English and Chinese

　　• Five years of Major Project Management experience with demonstrated ability to deliver safe, effective, and fully compliant projects.

　　• Proven ability to implement complex projects and collaborate within and across cross functional teams and business units, in a matrixed environment.

　　Broad project controlling knowledge.

　　• Excellent knowledge of key non-technical business processes; Strategy, HR, HSE and Finance.

　　• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

　　Ability to handle multiple work streams and under tight deadlines while maintaining

　　• Awareness of Environmental Sustainability topics, industry trends and best practice standards.

　　• Strong time management, planning, organizational skills. Familiarity with facility optimization projects implementation and related project control measures.
