About the role This individual is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and executing project tasks that are required to meet project and program objectives, from project conception through its completion. This individual is assigned to lead multiple product design projects and programs of projects, and has contact with virtually all departments within Leviton including Product Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Sourcing and Supply Chain. This individual will not have direct supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities Lead the preparation of project schedules, project cost estimates, and product cost estimates. Identify the resources (financial, infrastructure, and human) needed to meet project objectives. Monitor project schedules and communicate schedule information to the project teams. Execute the project tasks assigned to you to meet project requirements. Maintain project information for delivery during gate reviews and for product and project signoffs. Facilitate interactions between the engineering team and other Leviton departments, and interface with vendors and production facilities as needed. Monitor engineering and pilot runs and ensure readiness for production startup. Coordinate product approvals through Quality Assurance. Prepare accurate, up-to-date, and concise oral and written reports and reviews on project deliverables and status. Create and issue agendas and minutes for project meetings. Maintain logs of engineering risks, issues, action items, constraints, and project changes; actively identify and capture the same, and manage these to closure. Capture and report on lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle. Recommend new processes where needed for quality improvement, cost reduction, and faster delivery. Collect, organize, and analyze data, and clearly present data in a way appropriate to the audience. Provide training to all stakeholders on project management concepts and how they apply to their projects. Perform other project assignments as required. Qualifications Demonstrable, expert-level understanding of project management principles. Experiential knowledge of product development is required. Experiential knowledge of manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, molding, stamping, marking and general assembly is desired. Skilled using MS Office applications, MS Project, and MS Visio. Must have at least intermediate-level MS Project skills. Must have excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to complete tasks with limited resources and authority. Must have high integrity and be able to integrate the diverse interests of members of a cross-departmental team in order to meet the overall common goal. Education & Experience This individual has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical/science related field . Minimum of 7 years of experience as the project manager of successful projects in a product design and manufacturing environment, performing the above-listed “essential functions” Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required for consideration Travel Up to 10% travel if required.
