As a Product Manager on the Observability engineering excellence team at Splunk, you will work in an entrepreneurial, cross-functional and collaborative environment, working with product, engineering, marketing and sales counterparts to define and drive key functionalities within our Observability products.
Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to help bring our industry leading observability solution to a new level. You will work closely with our engineering team as we define the roadmap for our infrastructure platform, regional expansion, site reliability practice, compliance posture, product quality, and developer experience to meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.
This position requires strong technical expertise as well as a deep empathy for user behavior, a critical eye for market and strategy, and creativity and problem-solving. Knowledge of development will enable you to produce clear product requirements and traverse the technical complexity of our monitoring products and development processes.
This position will be based in the Hyderabad office in India and will need to work with our distributed team across the US and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle, including understanding customer and user needs, translating and communicating those needs crisply through a prioritized roadmap, and partnering with go-to-market and engineering teams to deliver a compelling product experienceActively maintain a view of how the market, competition, and technologies are evolving, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product strategyIn partnership with engineering, prioritize, scope, and execute critical cross-product initiatives to improve reliability, resilience, and quality, scale globally, advance developer productivity, and expand our compliance postureCollaborate with product marketing, support, and the sales team to drive GTM efforts solve for business limiters within your control, and pursue key business accelerantsBasic Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to prioritize requirements across conflicting dimensions and to clearly communicate the minimum capabilities that matterAbility to independently identify significant opportunities in an ambiguous area and build consensus around product roadmapsA passion for customer journey, user experience, usability and a curiosity about simplicity; willingness and ability to dive deep into technical requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead, collaborate and influence via persuasion, grit and energyFamiliarity with Cloud Provider platforms and services and experience building/delivering SaaS applications on public cloud platformsExcellent analytical / problem-solving skills. 5-10 years of experience in product management or technical product management roleExperience working in software engineering or in a customer-facing technical role (e.g. Technical Consultant, Solution Architect, Pre-sales Consultant, Sales Engineering, Technical Marketing)Experience working with Platform Engineering teams developing Platform-as-a-Product to improve Developer Experience through automation and paved path modelBA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience (MBA is a plus)Background in enterprise SaaS; bonus if those were monitoring or analytics-relatedParticipation in all stages of software development, experience with Agile software methodologiesExperience with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, and PCIWe value inclusion and diversity at our company. Base Pay Range
India
Base Pay: INR 2,800,000.00 - 3,850,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
