We are seeking a Senior Neurologic Physical Therapist to join our client's rehabilitation team in Manhattan. Our client is a world leading center for the care and treatment for people with Multiple Sclerosis.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend coverage. In this role you will be a part of the rehabilitation team and serve as a primary physical therapy clinician to patients and consultant to other clinical staff. You will be providing mostly individual sessions and facilitate group sessions if needed.
Responsibilities
Perform and document evaluations, treatments sessions, consultations, and screenings including customized plans of care.
Document patient information and communicate with clinical staff through center's EMR system
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Test and measure patient's neuromuscular and musculoskeletal status, functional abilities. Evaluate for integumentary and cardiopulmonary abnormalities which can limit the patient's physical and functional well-being.
Provide evaluation and recommendations for appropriate use and needs for durable medical equipment including, but not limited to, assistive devices, wheelchairs, orthoses, and exercise equipment.
Provide patient with a home exercise program and/or referral to home/outpatient rehabilitation services with education to family and/or caregivers when appropriate.
Provide information to the patient and/or family/caregivers about the proposed intervention, its material risks and expected benefits, and any reasonable alternatives.
Patient Handling skills are necessary throughout sessions. Training will be provided for site specific protocols.
Administrative responsibilities including management of daily operation, staff scheduling, attending meetings.
Stay abreast of industry updates, including advances in physical therapy, government regulations, and health insurance changes.
Ensure you adhere to HIPAA and documentation regulations as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
Requirements
Licensed by New York State as a Physical Therapist
Must be a graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school of physical therapy
BLS certification
Five years of clinical experience as a physical therapist with a minimum two (2) years of experience in neurorehabilitation
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others and work as a team

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$150,000/year
