Possible Locations: East, West, Central, and Southeast
The Senior Manager - Payer Relations, Market Access (PRMA) is an important payer - and customer-facing role that will work closely with global Market Access and Payment Policy leaders to focus on business objectives and co-develop market access field strategy and tactical plans for diagnostics. The Senior Manager will be charged with establishing new or revising existing coverage policies impacting enhanced market access for priority products within BD's portfolio including but not limited to diagnostics. The Senior Manager will also be the key contact responsible for local payer engagement and market access related matters in an assigned region, leading engagement and establishing relationships with identified regional payers (both public and private). In addition, this role will closely collaborate with the sales organization supporting key opinion leader (KOL) development and appropriate customer engagement addressing reimbursement issues or other barriers to product adoption.
Responsibilities
The Sr. Manager, PRMA, will be responsible for supervising and evaluating the access and coverage landscape for priority products and communicate and explain to internal partners payer policy updates or system changes that impact product market access (e.g., prior authorizations, step edits, etc.) in assigned payer accounts. This role will be available to support all three BD business segments, and the position's initial focus will largely be within Diagnostic Solutions businesses.Partner with business segment Market Access and Marketing leaders within our Diagnostic Solutions (DS) businesses to build strategic market access and reimbursement strategy and tools based on segment/franchise business objectives that will result in growing favorable reimbursement positions for BD products. Focus on gaining coverage/adoption of key technologies with regional commercial health plans, and State Medicaid agenciesWork cross functionally with medical affairs, key account teams, regional sales leadership in assigned areas to build alliances with KOLs for targeted payer engagements, address any practice or facility specific reimbursement challenges and identify areas of partnership supporting current and future BD productsDevelop working relationships with state societies, associations, and industry groups, as needed, to support patient access and raise overall awareness of BD's productsEnsure appropriate, compliant execution of the Market Access strategy covering the launch of any future products; specifically, field implementation of reimbursement support services at customer accountsExercise good judgment and oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as corporate policies in all activities and communication
Experience and Education
BA/BS degree required3-5 years of relevant MedTech validated experience in a customer facing rolePreferred experience with diagnostics with consistent track record of chipping in to growth through crafting favorable payment pathways and securing reimbursement status for healthcare productsPossess foundational knowledge of public and private payers and how coverage, coding, payment are resolvedBasic understanding of market access pathways in the US, including but not limited to: clinical laboratory diagnostics and medical benefitsPrior customer facing account management experience, both payer as well as key accounts, such as Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) is preferredValidated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with key decision makers at payers, key accounts, trade associations, and medical societiesExisting relationships with key payer decision makers within region is preferredMust be able to work independently with minimal oversight and direction, to anticipate needs from leadership and other collaborators, and to balance multiple and often diverse priorities to align on a strategic and appropriate planAbility to communicate reliably and lead without authorityAnalytical, problem solving and persuasive abilities to develop and implement regional strategic plansExcellent oral and written communication capabilities that have been confirmed with external customers, internal partners and senior leadershipExcels in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment where you can make a clear impact
Work/Travel
Position will require frequent travel within the continental US, and individual will need to reside near a major airportOption for 100% remote with travel 25%+ of the time
