Position Overview
Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager - Mechanical & Structures Engineering who will be responsible for managing employees and senior managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of mechanical systems & Structural design & analysis. This position engages with stakeholders to develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and leaders.
This position will provide strategic direction, administer multiple projects, develop and administer budgets, schedules and performance standards. This position provides periodic updates to Boeing executive management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world.
This position will support initiatives of Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center related to employee development, customer engagement, strategic relations, Government interactions, etc.
This position will be located at Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India.
Position Responsibilities
Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reportsExercises critical thinking and innovative problem solvingDevelops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goalsManages Long Range Business Plan (LRBP) activity and meet the performance requirementsDrives business value through the products with demonstrated resultsDevelops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of engineering and technical strategies, goals, objectives.Past experience and demonstrated ability to manage large teams in aerospace or related domain. Skilled in advising and mentoring mid-level managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.Exceptional business judgment and strong strategic counseling skills. Must be results-driven and have a strong bottom-line orientation.Teamwork is important in this position; individual must have strong teambuilding skills. Must have ability to accomplish results through mid-level managers, colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and partners, even when they are not direct reports. Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time-zones.Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.Strategic thinking and execution - must be able to develop knowledge and communicate with engineering and technology organizations, identify capacity/capability to perform current and projected engineering work statement and research, conduct on-site evaluations and assessments as to the strengths to perform these activities.Communication - strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI). Candidate must be fluent in English, and familiar with MS Office tools.Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Production, Aerospace or equivalent discipline) . A Master's Degree in Business Administration will be a plus.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 Plus years' related work experience or Master's Degree with 15+ years of experience withan equivalent combination of education and experience
