Capital One is looking for a Sr Manager, Compensation to join our Total Rewards team. We are looking for proven leadership candidates who are detailed, results-oriented and flexible with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this role is leading a team to design and execute our Enterprise-wide compensation programs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, deliver, and manage company-wide compensation program policy & design, including base pay program and corporate incentive planDeliver expert compensation consultation and develop proposals and presentations about compensation programs (including market data and appropriate pay levels/targets) to influence and educate senior level decision-makers.Lead cross-functional strategic compensation projects, key initiatives or process improvements with internal partners (e.g., Compensation Consultants, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, Enterprise Risk)Audit, analyze and consult on internal compensation practices and processes in relation to relevant regulations. Develop recommendations for corrective actions as needed.Lead mid-year and year-end compensation cycles, ensuring smooth execution and managing within internal and external controls.Develop plans, educational materials, and communications designed to provide associates, managers, and HR partners with timely and accurate information regarding compensation initiativesLead a small team of direct reports to deliver deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing pay programsExhibit thoughtful leadership within the team and compensation community
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 5 years of experience in Compensation or at least 5 years of experience in Finance or at least 5 years of experience in Analytics, or a combinationAt least 5 years of experience in client management or consultingAt least 2 years of people management experienceAt least 3 years of experience with Excel or Sheets
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human ResourcesCertified Compensation Professional (CCP)7+ years of experience in Compensation or 7+ years of experience in Finance or 7+ years of experience in Analytics, or a combination5+ years of experience in client facing or consulting roles5+ years of experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis1+ year of experience with WorkdayExperience developing data-based stories in Powerpoint or SlidesAdvanced excel skills (e.g., VBA, macros, array functions)Knowledge of human resources and compensation including knowledge of relevant Federal, State, Local laws/regulations relating to compensationExperience with benchmarking tools (MarketPay) or reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects)
