WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Senior Knowledge Analyst (SKA) within BCG's Energy Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, providing industry expertise and insights whilst working together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis and expert advisory. You'll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.
Additionally, you will support your topic in developing existing & new intellectual property and knowledge assets. You will work on commercialization efforts for the topic/sector, in conjunction with business leaders, supporting marketing efforts, conferences and publications. As a Senior Knowledge Analyst you will assist with on-boarding, training and guiding junior colleagues and share best practices within the team.
BCG's Energy Practice Area helps the clients to navigate an increasingly complex and evolving business. We cover the oil & gas and power sectors. We work with the full range of players in the industry: integrated international oil companies, national oil companies, upstream players, oilfield service companies, refiners, petrochemical producers and oil traders, integrated power and gas utilities, international power producers, renewable specialists, energy wholesalers and retailers, commodity trader, as well as government sectors and regulators.
The Energy SKA will leverage both internal and external resources including his/her own expertise and experience, preferably from Power & Utilities or Oil Downstream sectors. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge of one or more of the above-mentioned industries, or experience in a consulting firm. The candidate will be directly responsible for (a) working independently with our consulting teams on expert research and delivering original analyses and insights, (b) providing thought partnership and expert source know-how to case & topic/sector and (c) sharing topic/sector insights and points of view more broadly within the firm, through created and curated knowledge products.

Senior Knowledge Analyst Activities in Scope:
Working with consulting teams and supporting our client work:
Partners with consulting teams to identify & address critical knowledge needs
Provides customized knowledge for client work, prepares accurate, well developed documents and charts
Delivers original analysis and insights to consulting team, provides thought partnership
with guidance from leadership, identifies right expert & connects him/her with requestor
Liaises with DRS to ensure that requests for expertise are addressed by KT and appropriate research is delivered; Liaises with consultants, collects, synthesizes, analyzes case team learning & inputs into new knowledge products (vignettes, experience)
Working with topic and practice area teams:
Builds & updates new topic/sector-related customized knowledge products
Controls Knowledge Management databases consistency
Reviews knowledge products & ensures they are current & relevant and updates when appropriate
Assures proper sign-off before uploading materials into KN & contributes to sanitization
Writes abstracts & indexes project s & PA documents
Collaborates on practice area intellectual capital development
Contributes to content development around topic/sector for PA meetings & trainings
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
1-2+ years of consulting or research experience in energy sector required; candidates with consulting experience preferred
In lieu of consulting experience, 2+ years minimum industry experience required; 3-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Power & Utilities Industry
Advanced English (Spanish is a plus)
Self-directed, flexible, and able to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Attention to detail, persistence, good modelling and analytical skills
* Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.
BCG's Knowledge Team members are staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA's business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
