The Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing BPA (Business Planning & Analysis) will support the US Integrated Marketing Organization (IMO) Finance team by providing analytical and financial performance management for Marketing and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) initiatives.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Support US IMO Finance team in management of month-end close activities and analysis in partnership with BU Marketing teams on Marketing and Enterprise projects.
• Proactively communicate issues, plans and changes in forecast to IMO Finance and Business Planning and Analysis team. Provide inputs to pre and post close meetings with Accounting Function.
• Update Monthly Rolling forecast and manage Risk and Opportunities dialogue in partnership with IMO Finance and Business Planning and Analysis team.
• Design and maintain early warning systems for financial tracking, ensuring accurate advance warning for Marketing and CoEs expenses. Draw on best practices to embody a high performance, cross-functional culture throughout supported functions.
• Meet monthly with business partners to review budgets, actuals, trends, business needs and opportunities.
• Support Three Year Strategic Planning and Budget/LF process. Liaise with Marketing teams, IMO Finance, and Business Planning and Analysis to meet overall US Innovative Medicines process and timeline.
• Interact with Marketing and CoEs teams to provide analysis, presentations and recommendations as needed. Contribute to departmental or ad-hoc initiatives, as needed.
• Ensure promotional resources are available and managed efficiently in line with US Innovative Medicines strategy, including challenging reductions if appropriate.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all relevant compliance policies (i.e. Code of Conduct, CIA, Data Privacy, SOX, etc.) and ensure compliance in all job activities. Ensure accurate accounting of expense recognition for the business.
• Actively support the interaction between BP&A and clients, maintaining a constructive working partnership.

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor's or equivalent 4-Year University degree
• 4+ years of finance experience, preferably in Pharmaceuticals
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to communicate financial information to non-finance groups
• Ability to put present and influence decision making
• Experience presenting to executive leaders, simplifying messaging with impactful data visualization
• Experience collaborating in a cross-functional team environment
• Demonstrated ability to develop long term relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of the US pharmaceutical industry and external factors impacting the market
Desirable Requirements:
• Degree subject area in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA a plus
• BPA and/or accounting experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical industry
• Knowledge of SAP BPC and/or Qlik

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00 / year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
