DaVita's procurement team, PRISM (Procurement, Risk reduction, Innovation, and Supply Management), is on a multi-year journey of transforming our procurement / supply-chain / strategic sourcing process to be the best for our patients and partners and is looking for an innovative leader with Vendor Management experience to join our leadership team.
Position Location: Candidates must be located in Denver, Colorado; Greater Nashville TN or Irvine, CA. This role will require 3 days in office each week.
The Senior Director, Supply Network Risk & Vendor Management will report directly to the VP of Procurement. In this vital role, you will primarily be responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain risks to enable supply continuity, driving supply chain resiliency and process improvement in alignment with company financial forecasts, and insulating the Village from critical supply risk. You will enable this by overseeing the development of standard work, tools, metrics, and processes to guide your teams' work. You will also enable your team to quickly identify issues and underlying root causes, plan, and track countermeasures, and coordinate cross-functionally to pull in the correct resources to solve problems. Additionally - you will stand up a Vendor Management Office (VMO) team that provides oversight of key vendors, monitors vendors to ensure compliance with company policies, provides regular communications to senior leadership, and participates in key initiatives and partners with internal customers and vendors for process improvement. The position requires a deep understanding of vendor management best practices, systems, and policies and the use of data to implement those practices to drive enhanced economic value to the company.

Technical SkillsDeep functional expertise in one of the following areas:Logistics & DistributionInventory ManagementRisk & ResiliencyDemand PlanningStrong ability to develop integrated supply network strategies and programs involving supplier partnership, tier-II supplier sourcing, inventory visibility, logistics, and distributionStrong business financial acumen.Oversee development and implementation of standard work, tools, metrics, and processes to guide work and ensure standardization of data, process, and reporting across the team.Lead the identification and implementation of a proactive supply-network monitoring and mapping software solution for critical supplies.Manage continued development and improvement of DaVita's Supplier Risk Index to improve our ability to identify and mitigate future critical supply risks. proactivelyIdentify internal process issues that directly / indirectly impact the vendor's ability to supply timely.Manage large-scale distribution projects and partner on change managementPresent project updates to executive steering committees and other key stakeholder groupsEnsure communication and coordination between the Supply Network & VMO team and other support functions to resolve issues, share best practices, and optimize processesBuild, lead, and motivate a high-performing teamPerformance metrics and reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor supply network performance. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate performance results, identify areas for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.VMO Responsibility:Build and lead the establishment of a vendor management office in the Village by providing long-term vision and execution strategies from hiring and training talent to driving VMO initiatives.Define and activate the VMO operating model, including RACI and interaction model that outlines how the VMO works with external and internal partners.Lead a team focused on day-to-day vendor engagement, escalations, identifying new opportunities with business partners, and reporting on and managing vendor performance.Create, maintain, and lead the delivery of policies, standards, procedures, communication, and training strategies to support and sustain the Vendor Management Office.Drive the assessment of shadow VMO groups across the Village to develop a strategy for future organizational design, roles, and responsibilities.Develop scorecards & forward-thinking improvements that advance DaVita's ability to optimize our supply management capabilities and bring visibility to vendor performance and opportunities to deliver incremental value to our patients and teammates.Facilitate vendor continuous performance improvement.Project and Communication Skills:Ability to build consensus and buy-in to support change effortsAbility to synthesize diverse ideas, facts, and data into a cohesive analysis that includes problem statement, solution hypotheses, and robust data analysis to support recommendationsQualifications:8+ years of Supply Chain and Vendor Governance / Vendor Management experience requiredExtensive experience and knowledge with outsourcing, including the ability to gather/articulate business requirements for RFPs/RFIsLeads from the heart with a deep interest in people management and effective teamingExperience as a Director preferredExperience partnering with procurement / supply-chain / legal preferredExperience with Stakeholder Management and cross-functional collaboration preferredDemonstrated Track record in the following:Communication skills, written and oral Leading through influenceAbility to prioritize and adapt based on changing prioritiesAbility to develop and deploy new initiatives at scaleAbility to learn new software and vendor management tools.Philosophies that align with our core values of Service Excellence, Integrity, Team, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Fulfillment and FunThrive in a company that places equal weight on cultivating a compassionate culture and fostering a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture.Here is what you can expect when you join our Village:
