The Senior Director of Sam's Merchandise Finance & Planning - Portfolio, is a multifaceted role. Reporting into the VP Finance, Merchandise Finance & Planning you will play a critical role in connecting the Sam's Club's merchant businesses with all it's cross functional partners, including but not limited to: eCommerce; Membership; Marketing; Merchant Execution; Operations and Supply Chain. Your key partners include the Chief Merchant Officer (EVP) and Chief Finance Officer (SVP), along with other functional leaders. This role is a strategic thought-leadership role requiring strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities to drive sizable, complex, cross functional results and drive forward strategic initiatives with financial oversight. The role also plays an integral part of the Sam's Finance Transformation journey, from data, product, and tools through to continuously improving processes.
The ability to challenge all aspects of the business in delivering improved performance while maintaining strong working relationships is key to success in this role. Additionally, the ability to understand business trends, foresee financial opportunities and risks, and effectively influence business results is an important part of the everyday.

You'll make an impact by:
Talent Development - recruit, develop and retain top talent ensuring strong pipeline for ongoing business value.
Identifying Business Growth Ideas and enabling strategic initiatives - Generate ideas to grow business demand, understanding the connectivity of business ideas, and creating risk mitigation plans to maximize business strategies. Provide thought leadership and support for cross functional initiatives, facilitating collaboration and alignment.
Building Strategic Relationships - Maximize relationships and areas to collaborate on choices, expediate business decisions, and quickly action when needed. Partner with other merchandise support functions and other cross functional business areas to enhance decision making and speed of execution.
Transforming Ways of Working - Leading the merchandise finance and planning teams into leveraging and adopting new technologies, processes, and ideation approaches.
Operating With Excellence - Set an example in managing to KPIs, delivering excellence, presenting at all levels, and developing yourself and others.
Preferred Qualifications
