As a Senior BD&L Manager, you will enhance the value of Novartis' drug portfolio and out-licensing opportunities by leading and developing external alliance agreements and assisting in closing business deals and contributing to decision making. You will focus on value creation by seeking, structuring, negotiating and managing collaborative arrangements with partner companies and be responsible for providing financial and strategic insights, and contributing to long term forecasting and strategic planning.
Your Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Assist in the execution of the organization's BD&L strategies and plans.
• Support Business Development activities to enhance the value of alliances and manage partnership risks. Support BD&L project management.
• Use insights to identify product differentiation and competitive advantage for a pipeline product.
• Develop and implement long-term business development licensing initiatives strategy and overall partnering programs initiatives for assigned products.
• Contribute to the alliance management (AM) of partners by collaborating with AM manager.
• Develop and implement business development and licensing (BD&L) initiatives
o Co-ordinate the development of partnering strategies and ensure their execution
o Liaise with key stakeholders (partners, Novartis internal managers) to ensure all BD&L process is followed in record time
o Develop business cases and negotiate deal terms to maximize Novartis profit value split
o Support CFO and business leaders to implement for long-term business development and licensing strategy execution
o Explore internal cooperation potential through portfolio mapping
o Support the coordination and communication between divisions internal functions and regional team to ensure the execution of the agreement
o Develop rationales and deal terms to ensure the benefits of the Novartis group
o Monitor the performance of initiatives and maintains the database quarterly
• Monitor the execution of partnering deals
o Coordinate the communication between partners and internal stakeholders and facilitate the collaboration between Novartis and partners
o Update quarterly performance of partners to database and provide yearly regular alliance management review deck to regional BD team

Role Requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's degree or above, major in economics, business administration or healthcare related
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development and licensing in pharma industry. Experience in above-country role is a plus.
• Preference for candidates with marketing or product management experience in pharma
• Obtain business skills in developing strategy and execution plans, analyzing data to identify insights, risk and opportunity.
• Able to drive project execution with excellence.
• Project Management; Collaborating across boundaries; Influencing without authority; Aligning people and resources; Managing across functions and boundaries
• Able to understand changing dynamics of Pharmaceutical industry
• Proficient and fluent in English (spoken and written), with good interpersonal and communication skills.
