Job Summary: US Coatings is currently seeking a Safety Technician . This position will work under the supervision of the safety lead to provide assistance by effectively and safely inspecting, testing, and evaluating workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure all employees follow safety policies and procedures. This position will be temporary with the opportunity to transition into full-time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative responsibility for the safety program on projects as assigned.
Assist in the investigation of serious accidents and major environmental incidents.
Assist in the planning, preparation, and presentation of safety training as needed.
Assist in maintaining the database related to the safety program and write reports as necessary.
Perform job hazard analysis to identify hazards within the workplace. Stop any operations if the health, safety, or environmental risks are unacceptable.
Coach and guide employees and management regarding safety compliance issues and safe product applications
Participate in safety initiatives, meetings, and programs as required by the customer.
Work with job site safety personnel to identify and resolve safety issues.
Investigate incidents involving company property, employees, or temporary employees. Prepare documentation to ensure an adequate investigation and preservation of evidence is completed.
Coordinate transportation of injured or ill employees to medical facilities.
Track and maintain equipment and supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
Requires at least 2 years of previous job site safety experience in the construction industry.
Requires experience in presenting training materials in a group setting.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of current construction and general industry safety regulations and the ability to analyze and interpret this data for the safety of employees, job sites, and the branch.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively train, motivate, and communicate with employees, supervisors, and customers.
Valid driver's license.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
CSST preferred.
OSHA 30 preferred.
Travel:
