Summary:
The Solid Tumor Program Coordinator will work to enhance the Solid Tumor Program through program infrastructure development, research, and aid in the care of patients of all ages diagnosed, treated, or referred with a solid tumor at Cook Childrens Medical Center. Goal of position is to improve care by advocating for patients and families by navigating multidisciplinary services necessary for best comprehensive treatment. Serve as liaison and resource expert on solid tumor disease process and provide education to patients, families, staff, and community. This position requires strong clinical expertise, interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Requisite in this position is person with effective communication, flexibility, strong organizational skills and adaptability to change. This person also needs to be a motivated self-directed, independent thinker with the ability to collaborate within team environment. Education:
Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing. Preferred Masters degree.Preferred 3-5 years recent experience as an RN in oncology.
Certification/Licensure:
Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.Current BLS and PALS.Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing.Preferred Certification in Oncology Nursing, OCN, ACON, or CPON.
