Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities
As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the collections process by responding to inquiries from facilities and supporting the resolution of outstanding billings through strong customer service, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Primary Responsibilities:
Follows up with facilities to collect open billings in a timely manner and manages
Understands and maintains all governmental, regulatory, and company billing and compliance regulations and policies for payers
Reviews and accurately documents correspondence details
Addresses denials and non-payments through problem-solving
Identifies and reports to management any payer issues with regard to billing and collections
Processes, documents, and transfers account receivables
Reviews and completes assigned daily reporting
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Capabilities
High level of quality awareness, accuracy, and attention to detail
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Data-oriented with basic proficiency in MS Office Applications, strong analytical skills, and the ability to create detailed reports
Sense of urgency and customer-oriented mindset with an understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance and Protected Health Information (PHI)
Ability to work independently, multitask, and handle various priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years of customer service experience required
Prior medical billing experience preferred
