  As a Principal Risk Associate in the Retail Bank Risk Office at Capital One, you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify, assess and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable. This role will focus on risks and controls impacting one or more of our payment processing platforms within Enterprise Payments. You'll play a key role in ensuring that millions of customers interact with their money in a well-managed fashion by partnering with Product, Technology and Business partners to manage the risks associated with payments.

  Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated risk management professionals with excellent problem solving, critical thinking, organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

  Responsibilities:

  Risk Consulting - Provide advice and guidance to line of business leaders on risks impacting one or more areas within Enterprise Payments ProductClient Management - Develop and leverage key relationships with Enterprise Payments and functional stakeholders to enable collaboration across the enterpriseIssues Management - Identify and track issues and events to mitigate risk within Enterprise Payments. Coordinate with applicable business areas to define and implement remediation activitiesProcess and Change Management - Lead change control efforts at a payments product level to ensure impacts are appropriately assessed, documented and implementedGovernance - Support one or more areas within Enterprise Payments Product to improve our payments related control and governance environment and establish ongoing routines to support these areas

  Basic Qualifications:

  High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 2 years of payments operations experience or risk management experienceAt least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree or military experience2+ years of financial services risk management experience3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs3+ years of Process Management experienceCertification within the payments industry (e.g., AAP, APRP)
