Boeing Research & Technology - Australia (BR&T-A) supports the future growth and profitability of Boeing Australia's businesses and the broader Boeing enterprise. This advanced research and development arm creates future aerospace solutions while improving the cycle time, cost, quality and performance of current systems.
Two Australian-based locations - the Melbourne Technology Centre, co-located with Boeing Aerostructures Australia and the Brisbane Technology Centre, co-located in The University of Queensland, are microcosms of research and development transforming the aerospace and defence industry.
The opportunity
We are seeking a talented person to lead Boeing Research and Technology teams researching and delivering technologies across a range of fields including autonomous systems, flight and mission systems, advanced manufacturing with many of these programs being extensively math and software centric. This role will oversee research programs in Brisbane and liaise heavily with international locations, including the USA. International travel will be required.
The role is based in Brisbane, at our UQ facility.
Responsibilities
Development of diverse software, IT and engineering solutionsDevelopment, hand-over and Installation of research studies, software and hardware systemsDevelopment of engineering documentation and research studies.Engineer, research scientist and computer software personal managementBudgeting and project managementExternal collaborations with government, universities and industry Experience/Qualifications
Masters or PhD is preferred and research experience in industry and academiaTeam lead experience is required and an understanding of industry research, academic collaborations and leveraging government grants.Familiarity with engineering and human factors change processesTechnology and knowledge hand-over/installationsApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
