The Quality Inspector will provide coverage of Quality Assurance Labresponsibilities in support of manufacturing operations. This positionwill have high visibility with manufacturing team members, Value Streamand engineering functions.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities:
Work safely and without injury to self and others
Interpret drawings and verify requirements as applicable to production /PPAP parts Communicate the results to the appropriate people in supportof Midland Mfg. production
Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations todetermine manufacturing process capabilities
Recommend and specify instrumentation, calibration and gauging needs
Confer with Midland personnel regarding purchases, procedures, productspecifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards andpolicies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003
Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of quality andcompliance
Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled, may berequired to work scheduled overtime
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
2+ years prior experience in quality inspection required (5+ yearspreferred)
Prior experience in machining shop or manufacturing environmentpreferred
Desired Characteristics, Competence and Capabilities:
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to use calipers, plug & thread gages, micrometers and othermeasuring devices
Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions,and standard charts
Must possess proficient reading, writing, and computation skills
General knowledge/understand or some experience operating or programmingCMMs (knowledge of PCDMIS is preferred)
Actively participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectivesand in system reviews within the team
Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problemsolving, etc.)
Ability to problem-solve individually or as part of a group as jobduties require
Excellent ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective workingrelationships with co-workers
Ability to communicate technical information effectively and work withall levels of a manufacturing company

Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuouslystanding with occassion sitting.
Frequent repetitive grasping and repetitively using fine manipulationwith the hands.
May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist
May be required to repetitively push or pull frequently up to 20 poundsand occasionally 50 pounds with assistance.
This position is performed in an active manufacturing/quality officeenvironment, and as required by job duties, may also require work in ashop environment.
Team members in this position may be exposed to loud operatingmachinery, variend temperatures and may be occassionally exposed tochemicals and vapors.
