Ensuring Chart’s Success…
The QE is a hands-on individual who works with minimal supervision to establish systems and processes to ensure products are manufactured and tested in compliance with internal and external standards and meets customer expectations. Measures and reports on performance and trends in product quality and continuous improvement. Analyzes quality issues and non-conformances and documents all corrective and preventive actions.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
Maintains HPC’s ASME and NB Code Stamps/Certifications
Maintains HPC’s CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Certification and coordinates inspections for HPM.
Conducts Internal Audits to ensure conformance to required quality
Familiar with basic metallurgical concepts such as heat treat methods, material grades and chemistries, manufacturing processes, NDT methods
Manages QA/QC Team to ensure production needs are met while ensuring product quality
Works with Purchasing Team to establish and maintain Vendor product quality including site audits and qualification reviews for new vendors
Works with vendors to provide resources for NDT testing on-site and laboratory testing of weld mockup/welder test samples (assist Welding Engineer)
Maintains Calibration of all required HPC instrumentation
Department Procedures & Documentation
Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability
Assists other departments with Procedures & Documentation
Owns NCR Process and Leads Analysis of Quality and Production Process Issues and Non-Conformances to provide Corrective Action/Preventive Action
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Your Education Should Be…
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a Technical fieldYour Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your Professional Experience Should Be…
2-7 years in a Quality role
Familiarity with ERP systems.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Knowledge of Metal Fabrication – Cutting, forming and welding of structures or machinery.
Experience with NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT, Hydro-Testing)
Ability to read blueprints
Experience with Calibration and NIST Standards
Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g. API 661, ASME BPVC Section II, V, VIII, IX, ASME B16.5, B31.3, NACE, NB, CSA)
Welder Continuity and Traceability
ASME Code Stamping (eg. ASME “U”, “S” and National Board “U, S” and “R”) desirable
ISO 9000/9001 desirable
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Desired
Six-Sigma methodologies – Statistical Analysis, Capability Studies, DMAIC, Process Mapping, Continuous Improvement.
