  JOB PURPOSE

  We need a future facing automation project leader to support the automation movement in PSL, responsible for driving our ambitious digital and automation revolution. This will be someone who can work to solve real-life challenges that transform our factory. A key part of the role will be to develop both short and long-term automation strategies for the site. You will therefore be motivated by improvement and cost saving opportunities, driven by automation and digitalisation, leveraging best practice from within Unilever and external environment. You will be responsible for 'bringing the outside in' and exhibit excellent collaboration leadership, networking skills and driver of automation and digitalisation.

  This role will be responsible for landing improvement projects and building internal digital and automation capability at Port Sunlight with a specific focus on warehousing and logistics. You will be knowledgeable about the latest trends and best practices for Automation and Digitalisation technology.

  RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership and development of engineering projects specifically related to large scale automation.Leverage the value of digital and automation to drive innovations in this field, reducing production costs in the factory.Improvement in efficiency through use of digital & automation solutions.Identify automation solutions specifically in the field of warehousing and logistics that deliver a high level of transformation.Bring outside in, in terms of competitive practices in this field.Translate strategy into implementation programmes to deliver competitiveness.Ability to know your audience and communicate technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.Translating technical complexities and translate into business relevant concepts.Manage successful implementations of projects from design to deployment.Ensure the very highest engineering standards and processes are implemented and are aligned to specification.Excellent business and change management skills.Ensure assets are designed to comply with Unilever's safety, quality and sustainability standardsMaintain strong links to the engineering teams and be the go-to person to drive automation capability.Ensure a detailed Early Equipment Management process is followed to deliver best in class solutions.ALL ABOUT YOU

  Professional Skills:Engineering degree or equivalent experienceHigh level and proven project management skills Strong communication (verbal and written) and networking skills (interpersonal and planning)Analytical, financial and business management skills.Lean manufacturing techniques with a good understanding of EEM principles.Experience Required:

  Essential:Experience with Automation equipment with preference of warehousing and logistics projects.Proven record of excellent project delivery.A "digital native" with a good understanding of digitally based engineering projects.Ability to leverage best practice to develop and deploy solutions.Experience of working in a production environment in a key site roleStrong networking skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to work in virtual teamsAbility to build critical skills and develop key talentAreas of relevant experience:Significant experience in Engineering and Technology with a thorough knowledge of manufacturing technologiesKnowledge and experience in QualityProven track record of preparing machine / process stream specifications and machinery project management networks, risk profiles and execution plans.Good understanding of the materials conversion processesLiteracy in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project softwareExperience in managing project installation with a contractor management background - risk assessment and method statement, permit to work etc. IOSH managing safety qualification desirable.    Recruitment Fraud

  Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

   How is Unilever tackling this?

  Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.

   What can I do?

  If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
