  Product Cost Engineer Responsibilities:

  Establish management control systems and product cost targets early in a product conception.

  Capture, document, and communicate risks and opportunities, financial exposures, and outlay as it relates to products.

  Be involved throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle to ensure all financial targets through end-of-life are achieved.

  Leverage strong technical understanding of the product and use this to engage with HW teams and challenge design decisions from a cost standpoint.

  Support monthly executive product line reviews outlining performance against budget, target and actual cost for BOM, MVA and CapEx.

  In collaboration with the GSM and HW teams, own the supplier plan of record (SPOR) in order to ensure supply chain alignment and team focus on cost targets.

  Define, develop, and implement analytical models to understand drivers for product cost across the supply chain.

  Track the program actual costs versus target to identify program deltas and corrective actions to bring back on track.

  Outline, report, and track all program risks and opportunities related to product cost and drive them to closure.

  Lead cross-functional cost reviews to report out actual versus target cost and risks and opportunities for each program.

  Responsible for understanding program objectives, coordinating activities across different cross functional teams, and ensuring adherence to overall schedule including negotiating any changes in requirements, and communicating those to stakeholders.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Requires a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field and three years of work experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:

  Integrate the financial flows with operational flows to gain an understanding of new product introduction (NPIs) cost helping evaluate efficiency of an investmentAnalyze & program manage NPIs to identify & drive product & supply chain cost reductionsDevelop and implement processes, tools, and models to enable analysis of manufacturing partners quotes against industry benchmarksUse technical expertise to drive engineering and supply chain teams to meet program cost targets at a product and commodity level for NPIsChallenge HW teams at a technical level enabling cost down efforts from a design standpointTrack program actual cost vs target throughout the development cycle to identify cost deltas and identify corrective actions to bring it back on trackWork with cross functional teams to create fiscal budget by program. Track & report actuals to budget & identify opportunities for cost reductionsClearly and confidently communicates with cross functional stakeholders and senior leadershipBuilds a strong community within the program through collaboration, identification and implementation of process improvements, and ad-hoc initiatives.Public Compensation:

  $201,880/year to $227,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
